Tidbit Tuesday

Happy Tuesday! Today I went to this conference thing for one of our suppliers. Well it was pretty dang boring. They simply read off the PowerPoint slides with an engineering mono-toned voice. Put. Me. To. Sleep. I just wish there was more excitement and information than what was on the slides. Thank goodness for my college education and being able to present in front of large crowds.

Anyway, here are the tid bits going on in the news and in my life. Enjoy! :-)

News Tid Bits:

• There was a school shooting last Friday at a school in Washington State. The shooter, Jaylen Fryberg, was 14 years old and a popular kid. He shot and killed two students and injured four more. 
• The Kilauea Volcano erupted in Hawaii last Tuesday. The flow is threatening the old historic town, Pahoa. People are very nervous about their homes. The volcano is active and the lava normally flows into the ocean, but this time it is flowing towards the town. 
• Ebola is still a scary factor. Nurses/doctors that have come back from West Africa are having to be in a 21 day quarantine. Many people are very frustrated with this and believe it will discourage a lot of people from going to Africa to help. 
• The friend of the Boston Marathon bomber was convicted today. 

Life Tid Bits: 

• Ava is doing much better than last week. She is almost done with her medicine, so fingers crossed she stays healthy. 
• Lately, Ava has been jumping on people a lot. She used to be really chill when people would come over, but now she is crazy. I am working on making her sit when people come over. She is super smart, so I know we will get it under control soon. Not everyone is a dog person and likes a dog to jump on them when they come in the door.
• Jake and I have been kicking around doing a road trip to the Carolina's next fall. We want to see changing leaves and enjoy a true fall for a week. Also, if we can survive a road trip together that is another thing we can say we can do. So any suggestions?! 
• My birthday is this weekend. Ahhh! I'll be 23. Woo! 

Overall, our life is pretty simple and good. We have a lot to look forward to, a lot to be thankful for and a lot of birthday celebrating in the near future.
